1. prosince 1993. Z Minneapolisu odstartoval let Northwest Airlink 5719 k hodinové cestě do Hibbingu v Minnesotě. Na cílovém letišti nebyla kontrolní věž, a proto si piloti během přiblížení museli sami rozsvítit světla na dráze. Posádka prováděla přípravy na přistání. Turbovrtulový letoun klesající oblačností a hustým sněžením narazil do vrcholků stromů a zřítil se na svahu kopce. Záchranáři jej objevili o hodinu později tři kilometry severozápadně od letiště. Všech 18 osob na palubě zahynulo...(Česká televize)
