Alex požádá svého šéfa Mitche o doprovod na svatbu svého nejlepšího přítele Sama, kde má být družičkou. Samova snoubenka Diane přijede z Kansas City do LA a okamžitě se zamiluje do Mitche, načež Alex vymyslí plán. Budou s Mitchem předstírat, že tvoří pár, aby Diane odradila.
